The future of the course, which sits in the top 100 in the UK, has been the subject of much speculation in recent times with members crying out for someone to take ownership.
The high cost of maintaining such a course had cast doubt over the future of the facility, these fears have now been alleviated however.
As it stands the sale has been only of the course itself, the hotel is still in receivership.
Speaking to David Creane of Cowley Groves he said the buyer is now keen to set about making improvements and injecting much needed funds into the facility.
