Casino and Hotel development for HoK discussion

The issue of a second hotel and casino resort on the Island will be up for discussion in today's sitting of the House of Keys.

Minister for Economic Development, John Shimmin, will be asked how many expressions of interest his department have received in response to the notice they issued last year.

He'll be asked how many of the applicants are viable and whether a successful applicatant would be eligible for grant assistance.

Ramsey MHK Leonard Singer will also ask if his Department are keeping mindful of the fact that a second casino licence must not damage the viability of the existing operation.
