Bus fares on Island will be capped at £2 per journey from November 1.
Bus-goers will see the measure in place for a 'three-month trial' - as part of the government's latest 'intervention package' amid the rising cost of living.
Treasury Minister Dr Alex Allinson says as well as reducing transport costs, it aims to encourage people to 'leave their cars at home & switch to public transport, helping to reduce carbon emissions.'
Although the scheme is initially only in place for three months, the Minister says it could be extended.
