The Buchan School will be housed at King William's College in future, under proposals revealed by the school.
The Castletown college says it plans to apply for planning permission to make changes to buildings on the site in June.
If successful, building work would start on the project in September and take around eight months to complete.
King William's College says the project would mean changes to the Jackson House boarding house and the Stenning Building.
