Bride commissioners say they couldn’t afford to keep paying to use the Northern Civic Amenity site.
After the announcement today they were pulling out of using and paying for the site, they posted to Facebook saying households were paying £250 a year compared to just £50 elsewhere.
The board says Bride can’t keep paying more than £65,000 towards the site’s costs.
It says anybody who needs information about where to take rubbish following the decision should call 819235.
