More work needs to be done before a decision is made on whether to introduce more stringent border controls on the Isle of Man.
That's the message from the Home Affairs Minister who says discussions are still ongoing as to whether ID checks will be brought in at ports:
Last month the results of a survey on the issue were published showing 58 per cent of people were in favour of tougher checks.
The discussion was reignited last week after police confirmed one of Poland's most wanted criminals had been on the Isle of Man before his arrest in Heysham.
