Artificial Reef To Be Made In Manx Waters
Marine life on the Island could be in for a boost.
A landmark 3 year trial has been launched by the department of agriculture, fisheries and forestry where disused marine cable will be laid out in the sea in an attempt to create an artificial reef.
It’s thought that once the reef has formed the Islands waters would welcome new varieties of marine life, which would prove a major attraction to divers across the UK.
It’s hoped the first structures will be in place this year, and it’s expected that they will quickly become colonized by a variety of sea creatures.
