Big Ben experts to work on Castle Rushen's clock

The medieval clock on one of the Island's most iconic landmarks has been sent to the UK for conservation works.

Manx National Heritage describes Castle Rushen's timepiece as one of the few surviving 16th-century, wooden-framed turret clocks.

Experts from the Cumbria Clock Company Ltd, which also carries out the maintenance on Big Ben, will now be working to restore it.

The company's responsible for servicing more than 1,400 public clocks across the UK.
