Manx Utilities says it's asking planners to approve a landmark in the north of the Island.
The white triskelion on North Barrule was created by Bryan Callister in 2019, but was removed in 2024 before being reinstated.
Now, Manx Utilities - which owns the land - says it's applied for a certificate of lawfulness which would allow the artwork to remain in place for good.
It says it's neutral on the matter but knows there's strong community support for it, adding at the moment unauthorised repainting remains illegal and could be a breach of planning law.
