A local beach cleaning group claims to have had a “record breaking” session in Ballaugh last weekend.
Beach Buddies volunteers collected 75 bags of rubbish in just over an hour on the Ballaugh Cronk.
That beats a previous record set by PokerStars staff on Gansey Beach last year.
Among the rubbish were 1,600 plastic bottles, tin cans and fishing gear as well as a full barrel of used diesel oil.
The next Beach Buddies session will take place on Sunday at 10.30am at Fisher’s Hill.
