An Island animal charity says don't count your chickens until they're hatched.
The Manx Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to animals took to Facebook to warn people that hatching eggs doesn't always mean you'll end up with hens.
It says you need to be prepared some of the chicks will turn out to be cockerels.
And it adds dumping unwanted poultry - most often cockerels - is a criminal offence.
