More Sightings in the Last Week
Due to the good weather we’ve been having this week sightings of basking sharks have seen a massive increase.
The bad weather throughout much of July had a negative impact on the basking shark sightings, with numbers down on previous years.
This however has seemingly changed dramatically in the past week, with an average of ten sightings a day, and in many cases much more.
They have been spotted mostly around Peel and Niarbyl feeding in the evenings.
If anybody spots one of the sharks, or any other interesting marine activity they’re asked to inform the basking shark watch.
