Douglas East MHK Clare Barber says she'll defend her seat at this year's election.
She was first elected to represent the constituency in 2016.
In a social media post announcing her decision, she says it's been a privilege to be the area's MHK as well as a humbling experience.
And she adds the Island's economic performance will underpin all other priorities, such as health and education.
