High levels of staff absence at Ballakermeen High School means some students will have to work from home this week.
Headteacher Adrienne Burnett has issued a letter to parents and carers, saying absence rates are exceeding 20%, and she doesn’t believe the situation will improve enough to have every year group in school.
Therefore, Year 8 will be asked to work from home tomorrow, Year 9 on Thursday, and Year 10 on Friday.
The school has also been reduced to five staff members to run two canteens, so food choices for those in school may be limited.
