A local supermarket chain has banned children from buying eggs in the run-up to Hop Tu Naa.
Shoprite has put signs on shelves saying under-16s won't be sold eggs because of concerns over what they'll be used for.
It's after a number of incidents involving eggs being thrown at cars were reported to police.
The constabulary says young people use the eggs as ''a weapon of choice''.
The store says police support the new rules and are urging people to respect other people's property.
