Everyone should be aware of the implications equality laws will have for rights and obligations.
That's according to Chief Minister, Howard Quayle MHK, after the final provisions of the Equality Act 2017 came into force yesterday.
Mr Quayle says guidance on the matter has been published with more to come in the following months to help support business, organisations and individuals.
Before January 1 most of the Act had already been in effect and aims to protect people from discrimination, victimisation or harassment over the likes of their age, gender identity, sexual orientation or religious beliefs.
