Codes of practice for the Animal Welfare Act 2023 have been approved by Tynwald members.
Laws that will protect pets from mistreatment and harsher penalties for those guilty of animal cruelty will be in effect from June 1.
It means owners and people with responsibility for cats, dogs and other domestic animals are legally required to ensure their welfare.
A series of animal welfare codes have been published on the government website.
