Michael MHK Alf Cannan has resigned from his political responsibility for housing.
The backbencher announced his decision to step down from his Health and Social Care role yesterday.
He says that the majority of housing decisions are being managed through the Cabinet Office and not his department – and says he will not take responsibility for these.
In his resignation letter he also says he is disappointed that a policy of means testing rent will not be in place as planned and has called the major policy “deeply flawed”.
