A new bill being put through the House of Keys could help to lower homeowners bills.
It will pave the way for new building regulations to raise the overall energy standards of homes.
The new Building Control (Amendment) Bill will pave the way for new building regulations to raise the overall energy standards of Island homes and in particular reducing the cost of living in terms of energy efficiency.
The new buildings will reduce fuel use in the medium to long term and will require little heating with reduced energy use for lighting.
Minister Phil Gawne hopes the amendments will help Manx residents.
