Money for vehicles comes from £1.2 million bus renewal budget
The first half of the new additions to the Bus Vannin fleet have now arrived on Island.
The Mercedes Citaro single decker buses have come fresh off the production line from the factory in Germany; the remaining six are waiting to be brought over at Banks Circus.
The single decker buses have enough space to rival a double decker with the capacity to seat 70 people, just 8 shy of a double decker.
The buses were selected as they represented best value for money.
The money for the vehicles has come from the Public Transport Divisions annual bus renewal budget of £1.2 million.
A number of older buses in the Bus Vannin fleet will now be sold as they’re beyond their economic operational life.
