A teenager from Peel has been fined £500 after misjudging his speed on a bend and spinning out of control.
17-year-old Samuel Christopher Baxter, of Beary Close, caused a three-vehicle crash on July 24th.
Police were called to Poortown Road at 7.30am - Baxter had lost control of his Audi on the left-hand bend and crossed into the opposite carriageway.
Yesterday he admitted driving without due care and attention, via Coroner's Admission, at Douglas Courthouse.
In mitigation Baxter admitted he hadn't taken into account the fact the roads were wet, or reduced his speed for the corner, adding the event had left him with anxiety.
Sentencing him Deputy High Bailiff Jayne Hughes told the court: "He's an inexperienced driver and will have learnt a hard lesson."
She endorsed his driving licence with six penalty points and ordered him to pay prosecution costs of £50.
