A man who had more than £800 worth of cannabis smoked it for medical reasons, a court’s heard.
Albert James Johnson of Slieau Curn Park in Kirk Michael appeared before magistrates at Douglas Courthouse.
The 28-year-old admitted possessing just over 27 grammes of cannabis at his home on November 24 last year.
The court heard police raided his house and found the drugs in the living room, but Johnson wasn’t at home at the time.
The self-employed gardener later handed himself in to police and told officers the drugs were for his own use.
Magistrates fined him £500 and ordered him to pay £125 costs.
