Police Reiterate Messages After Shakey Start to World Cup Drink Drive Campaign
Since the Isle of Man Constabulary launched their World Cup drink drive campaign a large amount of motorists have been pulled over and in some cases arrested.
In the two weeks since the World Cup began a total of 35 cars have been stopped in connection with the campaign with 6 subsequent arrests.
One of the motorists managed to get himself arrested twice in 24 hours, he is currently on bail.
Due to the high amounts it would seem the campaign currently isn’t having the desired affect and the Road Policing Unit are reiterating messages.
They’re urging people to make alternative arrangements to get home if they’re watching the football at the pub.
They also want to remind people that they will face serious penalties if caught driving over the limit.
