A 23 year old Port Erin man has been charged with rape.
In the early hours of Saturday morning officers were called to a property in the South of the Island where a woman reported that she been attacked.
Detective Sergeant Andy Pailor of the Public Protection Unit Investigation Team stated, "A woman reported that she had been the victim of a serious sexual assault which had occurred at the hands of a man she had met earlier that evening. The offence took place at the man’s home address which the police have treated as a crime scene."
The male has been charged with offences of Rape, Indecent Assault and Committing Acts against Public Justice.
He will appear in Court today.
