Infrastructure Minister Michelle Haywood says her department's stance on 20mph zones is backed by 23 scientific studies.
She faced a question for written reply from Douglas Central MHK Chris Thomas about the evidence new 20mph zones would make the Island's roads safer.
Dr Haywood said 23 studies had been reviewed since 2020, which gave clear evidence the limits would lower the number of injuries, collisions, and casualties on the roads.
