The minerals in the Island's quarries haven't been fully valued in three years.
Environment Minister Clare Barber was asked in Tynwald this week about quarry royalty valuations by Arbory, Castletown and Malew MHK Jason Moorhouse.
The royalties are fees paid by quarry operators to the Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture.
Mrs Barber explained the rates go up with inflation each November, or as part of a review every three years.
