The Manx Utilities Authority has applied to improve flood defences around a power station in Douglas.
The MUA says it wants to put up new security fences at Pulrose Power Station at Pulrose Bridge.
In its application, the organisation says it also wants to build better flood defences to guard against the nearby River Glass.
And the authority adds it needs the new fencing to deter intruders after a number of incidents where people have scaled its walls in the past 10 years.
