Isle of Man recruitment platform launches Island.jobs to connect job markets across island economies

Recruitment technology developed on the Isle of Man is expanding internationally with the launch of Island.jobs, a platform designed specifically to help employers in island economies connect with local job seekers. In doing so, it may encourage greater job-seeking activity while strengthening connections across these communities.

Originally launched locally as Jobsearch.im, the platform was created to solve a challenge
familiar to many smaller jurisdictions, helping businesses hire effectively in markets where
talent pools are smaller and recruitment processes can often feel inefficient or opaque.
With the launch of Island.jobs, technology developed on the Isle of Man will now support
recruitment across multiple island markets, including Jersey, Guernsey and Gibraltar.
The platform has been built specifically around the unique dynamics of island labour
markets, where employers often need more efficient ways to connect with relevant
candidates and job seekers are looking for opportunities within tightly connected
communities.
Island.jobs introduces new technology designed to move recruitment away from the
traditional “post and pray” model of job advertising.
Employers can now publish roles instantly through a streamlined posting process with
integrated payments, while larger organisations can take advantage of automated job
ingestion that synchronises vacancies directly from their career pages.
For job seekers, the platform includes AI-powered job matching, using occupational
classification to recommend roles based on skills and seniority rather than simple keyword
searches. Candidates can also create hyper-local alerts tailored to specific sectors and
locations.
Unlike traditional recruitment models, the platform maintains a direct-to-employer approach,
allowing candidates to apply directly to businesses without intermediaries, giving employers
greater control over their hiring process and brand and jobseekers full control over their
application.
Guy Wood, co-founder of Island.jobs said:
“We’re technologists at heart, but islanders first. We originally built the platform on the Isle of
Man to solve a real challenge local employers face, connecting with the right people quickly
and transparently.
What quickly became clear is that many island economies face the same challenges. With
Island.jobs we’re taking technology built on the Isle of Man and expanding it to support
employers and job seekers across other island communities.”

Island.jobs is now live across the Isle of Man, Jersey, Guernsey and Gibraltar, marking the
next stage in the platform’s growth as it begins to connect island job markets through shared
technology.
