A former power generation station in Ramsey will be reused under plans from the Manx Utilities Authority.
The organisation has submitted a planning application to transform the decommissioned unit at its power station on Gardener's Lane.
The MUA says it wants to replace asbestos sheet roofing, with an option to put solar panels up in future.
Under the proposals, the unoccupied building would be turned into a general storage area.
