The Private Patients Unit development has been put on hold due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
It was confirmed by Health and Social Care Minister David Ashford in the House of Keys this morning.
He said because the facility has a large number of rooms, it may be needed to treat those with Covid-19.
The transformation of the unit was due to finish in June, after closing earlier this year.
