Uni students could see maintenance rise

University students from the Isle of Man could be in line to receive more maintenance money. 

The Department of Education and Children will ask Tynwald next week to approve a review of current regulations. 

Maintenance grants, for students in higher education, are paid on a means-tested basis and assist towards accommodation and the cost of living: 

Around a quarter of students on the Island are eligible for extra help - the department says it has £10.3 million this year for student awards and maintenance grants.
