The new Laxey bridge will be temporarily opened for TT week before being shut again for further works to be completed.
The Department of Infrastructure says it will briefly open the bridge to link the two sections of the village during the festival while there is increased traffic.
Originally it was hoped the bridge would be fully operational by TT - now the plan is to have the entire project wrapped up by the end of September.
