The inquest into the death of a sidecar racer who died on Senior Race Day will be opened today.
58-year-old Ian Bell died after crashing at Ballaspur during the second Sidecar Race.
He was racing with his son Carl at the time – the Northumberland man made his TT debut in 1995 and achieved five podiums during his career.
Coroner of Inquests John Needham will open the inquest at Douglas Courthouse at 3pm.
