Public warned to be carbon monoxide aware

The Fire and Rescue Service is appealing to homeowners to be carbon monoxide aware.

Firefighters have recently been called out to two incidents potentially involving the toxic gas. 

Carbon monoxide is produced when carbon fuels don’t burn completely and can cause permanent damage to your health. 

Symptoms of carbon monoxide poisoning can include nausea, dizziness, severe headaches and chest or stomach pain. 

Chief Fire Officer Brian Draper told 3FM the gas could even prove fatal:
