Process begins to redevelop old prison site

A consultation has started to determine the future use of the old Victoria Road prison site.

The site has been cleared for a number of years now ready for development, although government has a number of ideas it is asking the public to help shape the final decision.

A development brief has been prepared which sets out the basic guidelines for any development proposals to consider.

Michael Gallagher is the director of planning and building control at the Department of Infrastructure - he gave us an idea of the type of development we could see on the site:
