Banking facilities are already available at a number of post offices - so the Island organisation doesn't need its own license.
That's the view of Onchan MHK Julie Edge, who faced questions in the House of Keys about Isle of Man Post Office's services.
Miss Edge, the body's chair, was responding to queries from Castletown MHK Jason Moorhouse.
She said a review of services is underway, but there were no plans to operate a Post Office bank:
