Police expecting 'spike' in domestic violence

Police say they are expecting a 'spike' in domestic violence and mental health problems over the festive period. 

The Isle of Man Constabulary says although Christmas can be an exciting time which brings people together - it can also be difficult due to financial pressures and raised tensions. 
 
As a result officers usually see a rise in the amount of call outs from people requiring their help.  
 
PC Stuart McLean is urging any victims, or anyone who's worried about someone, to speak to an officer:
