Petition started by unhappy caravan enthusiasts

Towed caravan enthusiasts have started a petition to stop government from regulating their use on Manx roads.

Owners are facing stricter control measures - including a new permit system meaning each one must be registered from November.

Manx residents are expected to apply for current vehicles and permits will be issued for people visiting for select events like the TT.

People have voiced their opinions of the move on our Facebook page - they're confused as to why there was no public consultation on the matter.

John says it just doesn't make sense, as government is discouraging one of the fastest-growing holiday sectors - whilst Sharon tells us it's justified.

Mandy questions why there's a difference between a caravan, a campervan, a horse box and a trailer.

Over 140 people have signed the e-petition against any changes to legislation - you can find it on petition24.com.
