The Manx Electric Railway Society says it's 'dismayed' by a planning application which it says would 'rip up' the horse tram tracks for good.
There's been an ongoing battle to secure a permanent solution for the historic trams after the withdrawal of funding from Douglas Council.
The application has been made by the Department of Infrastructure - despite there being no confirmed plans for the future of the trams.
