Health Minister to be quizzed on cost of locums

Health Minister David Anderson MHK

The Island’s Health Minister will be quizzed on how much it costs to employ locum doctors in the House of Keys tomorrow (Tuesday).

South Douglas MHK Kate Beecroft will ask David Anderson to reveal how many locums have been employed by the health service in the last five years.

In a four part question she will ask how much this has cost, what areas of clinical practice the staff have worked in and how many have been employed for more than a year.

Mr Anderson will also be asked to break down these figures to give the current average cost of each locum per week.
