Fall in unemployment levels on Island

Job figures for March are out and see a marginal fall in unemployment.

At the end of March unemployment stood at 1,031 people, that’s a rate of 2.3%.
 
During the month, 183 signed on and 195 signed off, which equated to a fall of just 12. 
 
Of the total unemployed, 735 are males and 296 are females.
 
In all there were 506 vacancies notified to the Job Centre during March and at the end of the month 319 positions were still vacant and held on file.
