A local mum who came under fire last year for splashing out on Christmas presents is back in the headlines and will be appearing in a TV documentary tomorrow.

36-year-old Emma Tapping hit the news last year when she posted a picture on Facebook showing her Christmas tree surrounded with hundreds of presents for her three children.

Emma received a strong backlash from people shaming her for spoiling her children - she claims she spent in the region of £1,500 on the haul.

She defended herself during an appearance on ITV's This Morning last year:

This year her story's appeared in the Daily Mail, The Lad Bible and the Sun - she'll also be appearing on the Channel 5 documentary 'Xmas Excess: Parent's Splash The Cash'.

It airs on Thursday at 8pm and follows her and her family during the run up to Christmas.
