Concern expressed over Colby development

Taxpayers could end up footing the bill for roadworks in Colby after permission was granted for a new housing estate.

Heritage Homes has been given planning approval to build more than 30 houses on the old football pitch.

Yesterday Rushen MHK Phil Gawne told 3FM that he had concerns about the plans to alter the road junctions in the area.

He has since warned that the cost of this is likely to be met using taxpayers’ money.
