Bishop of Sodor and Man Robert Paterson expresses relief aswell as shock and disillusionment to evidence brought up in trial
The Bishop of Sodor and Man Robert Paterson has issued a statement in response to the court ruling which saw Reverend Canon David Green found not guilty of financial irregularities at Maughold Church.
He said he is relieved with the outcome, however he is still shocked and disillusioned by some of the evidence presented at the trial.
He conceded that given the severity of the charges the Police were right to bring the case before the court.
Now that Reverend Green has been cleared of all charges The Bishop said he will now work to ascertain both how he, and the life of Maughold Parish can be restored.
