Army Reserve unit to be set up on the Island

The British Army is looking at establishing an Army Reserve unit on the Island for the first time in almost 50 years.

New reservists are needed as part of the Army 2020 plan which will see them play a greater role in defence - the unit was formally known as the TA. 
 
It's hoped the Isle of Man Reserve Force will consist of a range of military trades including infantry, engineers, artillery, logistics and medical.
 
Colonel Phil Harrison is the deputy commander of 42 Infantry Brigade - he told us why the Island has been picked:
