Acting police officers 'inspiring' new recruits

Two trainee police recruits say they've been inspired to join the constabulary by those who are already serving:

Jodie O'Connor and Luke Samuels make up part of the first intake of 2016 - along with six others they're undertaking an intense 14-week training course.

Last week saw the student officers combine more theoretical learning with practical sessions and take their first exam - with all eight securing a pass of 90 per cent or above.

In addition they all gained their Life Saving Certificate meaning they're now trained in water rescue:
