The Treasury says the number of people paying tax on the Island has risen sharply this year.
In the House of Keys this week, Minister Alf Cannan faced a question for written answer about the number of people liable for income tax since 2011.
That year, almost 74,000 were resident taxpayers, compared to just under 74,500 last year.
But in his answer, Mr Cannan said he'd checked with the assessor of income tax - and there are more than 500 extra taxpayers this year.
