Local apprentices to benefit from business experience

Young apprentices are being supported by the local business sector.

The Manx ICT Association is helping the firms take on local apprentices in order to train the next generation of workers who can't or don't want to leave the Island to train.  
 
The business employs the young person and pays them a salary while they train on the job.
 
Students will also be trained at the University College ending up with a Higher National Diploma as well as work experience after two years.
 
17 local businesses have signed up this year - Owen Cutajar is the MICTA education liaison:
