When we refurbished The Engine House before we opened last year, we took down a number of white roller blinds. I didn't want to just throw them away and late last year I was chatting to local artist, Michael Starkey, and we came up with the idea of doing a project at the prison with them.
Michael has been working artist Angela Patchett and the inmates at Jurby prison for a number of months and the blinds are now ready to show the world. We are selling them to raise money for the Samaritans and David Gray House as both charities work closely with the prison and we hope that these will be snapped up by local companies.
We are thrilled that His Excellency Sir Richard Gozney will be opening this show on Monday 15th July at 5.45pm.
