Come & join us for a Public Talk at St Marks Country Park, Isle of Man UK, to learn about the Saola - one of the most spectacular zoological finds of the 20th century

The Saola, a new bovid found in Vietnam in 1992, is the most spectacular of several new species discovered in the Annamite Mountains of Lao & Vietnam. The Saola (aka "The Asian Unicorn") remains one of the worlds least-known large mammals and is now also one of the most endangered. It and many other species in Vietnam & Lao PDR are under tremendous threat from an intense wildlife trade. We still have time to save the Saola from extinction. Come & join us for an afternoon to find out how. This is one of the most ambitious global conservation challenges of this era.

Presented by Bill Robichaud, co-founder of the IUCN Saola Working Group, plus Special Guests (TBA). For the last twenty-five years, Bill has worked on wildlife conservation projects in Lao PDR and Vietnam. In 2006, he co-founded the Saola Working Group, and in 2015 the International Union for the Conservation of Nature gave him the Harry Messel Award for Conservation Leadership for his work on Saola conservation.

Bill and guests will be available for question & answer sessions prior to & following the event
